Kim's AIDS Vaccine 3 Day Walk
If I told you I was walking 60 miles from West Point to the United Nations to find a vaccine for AIDS would you support me??
Over the days of July 19-21, 2002 I will do just that. I will walk 60 miles to raise money for an AIDS vaccine. I am walking to honor the memory of my dear friend Rick who I lost to complications from this disease in 1998. I am walking so that other people don't have to suffer the immense loss that I have felt. I am walking so that other people don't have to lose their dear friends. I am walking so that in my lifetime there will be a vaccine for this disease. I have to raise $2200 to participate but my personal goal is $4000. I can't get there without you! Your deductions are fully tax deductible. They will go to 2 of the world's leading university research facilities - the UCLA AIDS Institute, and the Emory Vaccine Center. The net proceeds of the funds will give these scientists the freedom to test bold and pioneering theories, which traditional, conservative sources are often reluctant to fund. We will help free them from grant writing so that they can remain in their laboratories, where they belong, and test out their ideas. The net proceeds are given to these scientists free of restriction, so that they can go to work immediately on the approaches they feel are most promising. Thanks for visiting (be sure to sign my guestbook!) and thanks in advance for your generosity! Kim AIDS Vaccine Walk #1010 |
